The Algiers

Northern Grit. Southern Fire.
The Algiers are a British-American indie rock band based in New Orleans. Influenced by British rock icons like The Stone Roses and The Verve alongside the grit of 90s American alt-rock, their music fuses red-brick nostalgia, rural British roots, and the cultural melting pot of New Orleans. Their debut single “You Know” (Oct 2025) marks the beginning of a bold new chapter, with sync representation from GSM FIERA and a European tour launching in early 2026.

What Makes The Algiers Unique
Hailing from New Orleans with deep roots in both the UK and the American South, The Algiers carve out a sound that bridges continents. The band draws influence from the euphoric swirl of British rock and roll—The Stone Roses, The Verve—and the raw energy of 90s American alt-rock, creating music that feels both timeless and urgent.
Their songs explore themes of red-brick childhoods and rural landscapes of the UK, the vibrant cultural tapestry of New Orleans, and the shifting, clouded lens of life in today’s world. This blend of past and present, local and global, defines The Algiers’ identity: a British-American dialogue carried out in guitars, melodies, and rhythm.
The lineup boasts seasoned players with remarkable histories. Frontman Terry McDermott, a Scottish singer-songwriter and former Geffen artist with Driveblind, first came to wider attention as runner-up on NBC’s The Voice. Guitarist Innes Cardno, also from Scotland, earned acclaim with NME favorites Fridge Magnets and co-founded side project Green Lady with McDermott. From New Orleans’ Westbank, guitarist/keyboardist Justin Molasion is a staple of the local scene, leading celebrated acts including the Led Zeppelin tribute Mothership. Drummer Brentt Arcement, a Westbank Music Hall of Fame inductee, has performed with 80s legends White Lion and Enuff Z’Nuff.
The band’s debut single, “You Know”, was released in October 2025 and quickly gained sync representation through renowned licensing firm GSM FIERA, setting the stage for their arrival on the global stage. With their first European tour kicking off in February 2026 and U.S. dates to follow, The Algiers are poised to bring their transatlantic sound to audiences worldwide.
